Productivity is minimally sufficient
As we already know, laptops based on the Snapdragon X Elite SoC will not have discrete graphics cards, but will be able to run most games. Now we have the first example that allows us to at least somehow evaluate performance.
At one of the demonstrations, a laptop with SoC Snapdragon X Elite coped quite well with Baldur's Gate 3 — the best game of 2023 according to most thematic resources. More precisely, at Full HD resolution the system produced 25–30 fps. True, we do not know the game settings and the set power limit.
For comparison, in 30-watt mode, the Ryzen 9 7940HS with iGPU Radeon 780M provides 25–40 fps in the same game. It’s impossible to get a complete picture from just one game, and even without important details, but at least it’s worth noting that Baldur’s Gate 3, in any case, is a modern game with not the very minimum requirements. It is also worth noting that the release of Snapdragon X Elite is still at least two to three months away, so Qualcomm has the opportunity to refine the software.
