It's hard to believe, but Siphon Filter, once one of the most exciting series in the PlayStation portfolio, is celebrating its 25th birthday.

February 16, 1999, the first Siphon Filter was released on PlayStation in the USA, and 5 months later it appeared in Europe. Along with Metal Gear Solid, it was a true spy game that featured full-on “cinematic” action. The series is now dead, but as a consolation, Sony has added it to PlayStation Plus Premium.

Official sales figures for the Siphon Filter series are unknown. The only information is that the first part sold 900,000 copies in the United States. The series now has six games, so the total circulation is millions of copies.

Game ratings of the cycle:

  • Syphon Filter – 90% (PSX)
  • Syphon Filter 2 – 81% (PSX)
  • Syphon Filter 3 – 73% (PSX)< /li>
  • Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain – 65% (PS2)
  • Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror – 87% (PSP) , 70% (PS2)
  • Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow – 85% (PSP)
