Bandwidth is the same for both PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0
Samsung has officially introduced the Samsung SSD 990 EVO solid state drive. The new product is based on Samsung's own controller, and its feature is support for PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCI 5.0 x2 interfaces. However, connecting to the PCIe 4.0 or PCIe 5.0 bus does not affect the performance in any way. However, the slightly higher power efficiency when using PCIe 5.0 and the placement of all elements on one side of the board makes the Samsung SSD 990 EVO a good option for installation in a laptop.
The SSD 990 EVO uses Samsung V-NAND 3-TLC memory chips. Maximum sequential read and write speeds — 5000 MB/s and 4200 MB/s respectively. Random read and write performance — 700 thousand IOPS and 800 thousand IOPS respectively.
There are two memory options: 1 and 2 TB. In the first case, the resource is 600 TBW, in the second — 1200 TBW. US prices are $125 and $210.
