Deputy Head of the Information Technology Department of Russian Railways Yuri Danilov said that the company is developing a waiting list for purchasing new or returned tickets online. According to him, this is «how to actually stand in line», and not just receive notifications that a ticket is available for purchase.
When someone cancels a ticket or a carrier adds additional carriages, thanks to the new service, the passenger will have the opportunity to buy a ticket in advance. According to Danilov, the service is now at the stage of active development, its first stage will be launched in May.
In addition, Russian Railways is working on a service for quickly purchasing tickets. According to the company's research, the majority of unsuccessful ticket purchases are due to the fact that the passenger spends a lot of time choosing seats on the carriage map. Sometimes because of this it is not possible to buy tickets — they end.
To solve this problem, a new quick purchase service will be created: the user sets a set of parameters and an instant purchase of a ticket occurs, Danilov explained. He added that the new services will be fully operational in the third quarter of this year.
