This is necessary to combat telephone fraud. The subscriber will be able to choose whether or not to receive foreign calls

Roskomnadzor is discussing with mobile operators new ways to combat telephone fraud. The TASS agency reports this with reference to an informed source close to the department. On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the agency’s interlocutor said that one of the options could be for operators to block all calls from abroad by default.

The source also noted that the subscriber will have the opportunity to choose in the personal account settings: to receive or not receive foreign calls. Restrictions can be set for all international calls or only for subscribers from the contact list: for example, a subscriber can select the option to receive calls only from family and friends.
