It is planned to install 1,437 fast and 3,206 slow charging stations
In Russia, it is planned to significantly accelerate the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles in order to stimulate the transition to environmentally friendly cars.
According to the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Kolesnikov, by the end of 2024 it is planned to put into operation 1,437 fast charging stations with a capacity of more than 50 kW, which is twice the figures established in 2023.
It is also planned to install 3,206 slow charging stations with a power of less than 50 kW. Initially, 659 fast and 2,163 slow charging stations were planned to come online over the past year. However, this plan was adjusted due to the inclusion of the Yaroslavl and Kursk regions, as well as the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in the pilot project. In fact, the plan for the development of a network of charging stations was not completed by only 16%.
It was previously reported that in Russia electric cars are catching up with diesel cars in sales. Geely's Zeekr brand sold 3,741 units.
