Russia has launched mass production of electric motors for drones – entirely from domestic components

In the future, it is planned to produce more than 1 million products per year

KRET (Concern «Radioelectronic Technologies»), part of Rostec, launched the production of modern brushless electric motors. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.

Similar types of power plants are used in aircraft drones, industry and mechanical engineering. Electric motors are developed and produced at the Ulan-Ude Instrument-Making Production Association (part of KRET).

As the company said, they are made entirely of domestic components and, unlike foreign analogues, have less weight and higher efficiency. This allows you to install more additional attachments on the drone. Design features also contribute to the longevity of the engines.

General Director of U-UPPO Vladimir Luchnikov explained:

Currently, U-UPPO has mastered the production of four modifications of brushless electric motors. Now the developed design and technological documentation for small-scale production is being processed for mass production. The plans are to master the production of ten more modifications of products, as well as a whole line of commutator motors. Mass production of products will ensure Russia's import independence and technological sovereignty.

Electric motors were named after the Baikal winds: «Sarma», «Barguzin», «Khius» and «Kultuk». Each differs in a number of ways, including – by power. For example, the electric motor «Sarma» capable of lifting a drone weighing up to 11 kilograms into the air.
