Jez Corden revealed on the Xbox Two and Iron Lords podcast that Microsoft has appointed Gears 6 developer The Coalition's Kate Rayner to oversee the development of Xbox studios' internal Unreal Engine 5 games.
A Windows Central journalist said that The Coalition's technical director was recently noted by the management of the American giant, given her excellent work on the sixth part of the series, which, according to rumors, should be announced at Xbox Showcase 2024.
Jez Corden added that Microsoft has identified Rayner as a key developer who will transfer the Unreal Engine skills acquired at The Coalition during the development of various parts of the Gears of War series to all other Xbox Game Studios.
Thus, Microsoft hopes to bring all development teams in line with the great achievements of the Gears of War team, so that the games will feature superior technical execution through the skillful use of the Epic Games graphics engine.< /p>
Recall that in 2022, Kate Rayner presented a demo of Unreal Engine 5 on Xbox Series X, demonstrating the advanced technical component.
