The operator's subsidiary has registered two trademarks in this category: “blot” and the word “Iron”

Russian telecommunications operator Rostelecom may be about to enter the computer equipment market. According to the application database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), a subsidiary of the operator «Rostelecom Information Technologies» registered two trademarks for products of the ninth class of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICGS). This list includes laptops, tablets, printers and other computer equipment.

One of the registered «daughter» Rostelecom's trademark is the word «Iron» (exactly in this form, in Russian letters), and the second looks like a black symbol, similar to a blot. The RBC publication sent a request to Rostelecom about this: the company reported that a large number of research, development and pilot projects are underway, and details will not be disclosed until their completion. The operator’s press service did not say anything specific about trademarks.

RBC also drew attention to a promotional video for Iron laptops, created by Saratov-based Hot Stream Studio, published back in December last year on YouTube and other sites. The video shows laptops with a similar logo and the word «Iron», but it does not say anything specific about the technical characteristics and release dates of the device. The studio also did not reveal any details about the development.
