This press provides a specific deformation pressure of 40 megapascals

The Stankotech enterprise, part of Rostec, has developed a unique press for stamping fuselage elements of large aircraft. As Rostec reported, there have never been units of this class in Russia.

The weight of the press is 650 tons, the height above the floor — 4.7 meters (or 8 meters if you count the foundation), power — 800 kW, and the specific deformation pressure reaches 40 megapascals (for comparison: the same pressure lifts a deep-sea submarine from the bottom of the sea).

Ростех показал уникальный пресс, при помощи которого будут штамповать топливные баки и авиационные панели для самолётов МС-21 и Ту-214

The new press will be used to produce large parts from aluminum alloys for domestic airliners. Thus, with the help of the press giant it is possible to produce elements of fuel tanks, life support systems and aircraft panels for MS-21 and Tu-214.
