Girls are increasingly trying to look and behave as openly as possible, trying to attract attention to their broadcasts

An article was published in the scientific journal Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, the authors of which drew attention to the trend of so-called “pornification” among streamers on Twitch. Having studied about 2 thousand broadcasts, people of science came to the conclusion: girls are increasingly behaving more openly during broadcasts, diligently turning themselves into objects of sexual attraction, thereby trying to attract more attention to their broadcasts.

The main attention of scientists was focused on broadcasts in the categories In Real Life, Pools, Hot Tubs & Beaches, ASMR and JustChatting.

The results showed a clear gender disparity in “self-sexualization.” While there are generally more male streamers on the platform, female streamers have been found to engage in self-sexualization at significantly higher rates and to be far more explicit when doing so. Only two men in the entire sample were classified as “hypersexual,” compared to 389 women. Likewise, only 5 men from the entire sample were classified as “sexy” compared to 190 women.
