It will receive a hybrid power plant based on a 1.6-liter engine
Renault today officially announced a new crossover – it was called Symbioz. The disclosed technical details indicate that this model will be built on the CMF-B platform – the same one that underlies the Russian Lada Iskra.
Based on the dimensions of the Symbioz, it can be called «Captur at maximum speed»: in the Renault line, the new model will occupy a position between the Captur and the more spacious Austral crossover.
In the teasers published today, Renault briefly showed the exterior of the Symbioz (and from the outside it closely resembles the Captur), the Solarbay panoramic roof, which can be made opaque at the touch of a button, and the dashboard is similar to that of the Captur. But at the same time, the Symbioz will have more space than the Captur, and the carrying capacity will be greater.
Length Symbioz – 4410 mm. For comparison, the length of the Captur – 4329 mm, Austral – 4510 mm. The new model will receive the E-Tech 145 hybrid powertrain, like the Renault Clio, Captur and Arkana. This is a regular hybrid with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, two electric motors and a traction battery with a capacity of 1.2 kW·h. 145 hp in general it should be enough for a vehicle weighing less than 1.5 tons.
The official premiere of the Renault Symbioz will take place in the spring of this year, and prices will be announced at the same time.
