Fireproof structural elements of the ship will fall into the Pacific Ocean
Cargo ship «Progress MS-25» will leave the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS) to make way for «Progress MS-27».
Roskomos said that the ship will undock from the small research module «Poisk» today, May 28, at 11:39 Moscow time, after which it will switch to autonomous flight. At 14:48 Moscow time, the engines should be turned on for braking, after which the ship will leave orbit and enter the dense layers of the atmosphere. Most of the «Progress MS-25» should burn up in the atmosphere, and the remaining structural elements should fall into a non-navigable area of the South Pacific Ocean around 15:29 Moscow time
«Progress MS-25» arrived at the ISS on December 3, 2023, delivering more than 2.5 tons of cargo to the station, including the special complex «Incubator-3» and 48 Japanese quail eggs, as well as equipment for the experiment «Quartz-M».
Launch of «Progress MS-27» expected May 30.
