It will deliver about 2,500 kg of cargo to the station
At the technical complex of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, pre-launch preparation of the Progress MS-25 transport cargo ship for flight to the International Space Station is being completed. The press service of Roscosmos spoke about this.
Today at Baikonur the ship was docked with the transition compartment, the onboard equipment was checked and the Progress was prepared for the author's inspection. The transition compartment is part of the space head section and provides mechanical connection between the spacecraft and the head fairing and integration of the Progress MS-25 command interface into the on-board control system of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier.
Meanwhile, the ISS is preparing to receive a cargo ship. In particular, Russian cosmonauts performed a TV signal transmission test before docking the Progress MS-25.
The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with Progress MS-25 to the ISS is scheduled for December 1, 2023. The ship must deliver about 2,500 kg of cargo on board the ISS, including 515 kg of fuel in refueling tanks, 420 kg of drinking water and 40 kg of compressed nitrogen, as well as 1,553 kg of resource equipment and stowage for scientific experiments, food, medical and sanitary -hygienic products in the cargo compartment to ensure the work and life of the crew.
