Like Dimensity 9300

Recently, the SoC Dimensity 9300 entered the market, which does not have energy-efficient small Cortex-A cores at all. It looks like Qualcomm is going to copy this approach from MediaTek.

According to insider Digital Chat Station, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will also not have small cores. The platform configuration, which is now hidden behind the code name Sun, will include two Phoenix L cores and six Phoenix M cores. The 3 nm process technology will allow Qualcomm to curb the power consumption of such a solution, although it is still not worth expecting in advance that such a SoC will not throttle much.

Recall that Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 was previously credited with the transition to Qualcomm’s own Oryon processor cores. Perhaps they were renamed Phoenix for the mobile SoC.
