Everyone will get up to $92 for one iPhone

The saga of Apple's deliberate reduction in iPhone performance has come to an end. The company began paying compensation to victims.

In a case dubbed Batterygate, Apple was found guilty, and the company finally began paying $92 compensation to everyone who joined the lawsuit at one time. More precisely, a person will receive $92 for one «victim» iPhone, and some of them had many such smartphones. 9to5mac reports that some plaintiffs will receive approximately $1,000. For Apple, the total payments will be about 500 million dollars, although users will receive only 310 million in total.

Recall that the story dates back to 2016, when, as it became known later, Apple began to reduce the performance of the iPhone through updates in order to preserve battery power. Apple later apologized for its actions, reduced the price of battery replacements for all of 2018 on select iPhone models by as much as 63% to $29, and added a Battery Health and Charging page that shows current capacity your iPhone's battery. But, of course, the matter did not stop there, but only now has it reached its logical end.
