Old Corte-A75 cores, support only Wi-Fi 5 and eMMC. Formally presented the new MediaTek Helio G91 platform

It is very similar to G88

MediaTek introduced a new single-chip system of the Helio family without 5G support. The new product is called Helio G91.

This is a solution for low-cost smartphones without support for fifth generation networks. Unfortunately, the kernels at the heart of the new platform are not new at all. The CPU has two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, and to assist them there is a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. That is, the performance should be noticeably lower than that of the Helio G99.

MediaTek itself focuses on supporting cameras with a resolution of 108 MP, although this is not new in this segment. The new platform also supports Full HD+ screens with a frequency of 90 Hz, LPDDR4x RAM up to 8 GB and eMMC 5.1 flash memory, which is not an advantage.

It is also worth highlighting support for only Wi-Fi 5, a Cat-7 DL modem and no indication of the technical process.

Apparently, Helio G91 is an almost complete copy of Helio G88, which is produced according to 12 nm standards. Perhaps the G91 differs from the G88 in its more modern technological process.
