“The Chinese” are also noticeably glitchy
Drom.ru published a note about the experience of using the BAIC U5 Plus sedan by a girl Irina. We have already written about the electronic problems that arose with the Lada Vesta NG, but, as it turned out, Chinese cars are «buggy» no less.
According to the owner, the car was purchased on September 30, and problems began in November. First, the all-round viewing system stopped working. The dealer is not without «adventures» the system was repaired, but not for long: the cameras turned off, and then turned on again after some time.
After some time, the audio system stopped working, and then errors in the anti-lock and traction control systems appeared on the panel. Irina came to the service, where they «insulated the ABS wire» – free (this is a plus), but the errors did not disappear (this is a minus).
Meanwhile, the dealer updated the firmware of the BAIC U5 Plus media system – it was Russified and supplemented with the CarBitLynk application, which should display the interface of the connected smartphone on the screen of the infotainment complex. Alas, CarBitLynk never worked, but the time began to constantly go wrong.
And the sedan’s windshield burst. First, from the impact of a small pebble, «caught» on the Moscow Ring Road, a chip formed, two weeks later another one appeared, and when one night there was a 30-degree frost, a crack formed across the entire width of the glass. The car is insured under CASCO, an application for a replacement has been submitted – what could go wrong? There is no glass in stock: Irina has been waiting for it for 20 days, and it is not known how much longer to wait. And this is quite strange, since BAIC U5 Plus is still assembled not in China, but in Kaliningrad.
