The bank will be able to implement any necessary application functions in the ATM

«Tinkoff» began import substitution of software for its own ATM network. The first devices with new software on the Linux operating system have already been put into operation and installed in Moscow. This was reported by the bank's press service.

The bank explained:

Currently, almost all ATMs in Russia and in the world operate on the Windows operating system, which belongs to Microsoft Corporation. «Tinkoff»  as part of its import substitution strategy, it developed its own software on the open source operating system Linux.

Previously «Tinkoff»  launched the production of our own ATMs, designed and assembled in Russia. Pavel Vlasov, Deputy Director of the Payment Systems Department at Tinkoff, explained:

Linux — This is an open-source system, and the development of software compatible with it makes us independent of any vendors, including foreign ones. Now we will independently manage the creation of products and implement any necessary application functions in the ATM.
