They were approved by 70% of participants in limited testing. But the usual quick answers also remain
Yandex announced that it is moving to the next stage of testing quick responses from the YandexGPT language model. Since September 2023, quick answers from YandexGPT have been operating in limited testing mode, in which more than 200 thousand people took part. Users could evaluate the generation results, and 70% of the ratings were positive, as noted by Yandex. Now quick answers from YandexGPT have become available to all users in search results, but for a limited volume of requests.
At the stage of open beta testing, quick responses from YandexGPT appear along with traditional quick responses, but next to the neural network’s responses there is always an indication that it generated them and a link to the source. Site owners will be able to independently decide whether their content will be used to generate updated quick responses from YandexGPT: if the site owner does not want his content to be used, he will be able to add a special tag to the robots.txt file.
To create a quick response, YandexGPT finds several sources that best match the user's request in real time. The neural network then briefly summarizes the information from each of them, in particular if the text needed to create the answer is located in different parts of the page. After this, YandexGPT selects the most useful answer from all the received ones — it appears directly below the search bar.
