The car will be released only in Japan
The Honda Civic Si is available as a sedan only in the United States, where it is sold alongside the Type R hatchback. Honda has combined the two models to introduce a sports compact car with the former's engine and the latter's body style.
The Honda Civic RS, unveiled at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Show, features a six-speed manual transmission. Honda intends to launch it later this year in the Land of the Rising Sun. The blacked-out sports hatchback received contrasting «RS» badges. and dual exhaust tips.
Honda doesn't specify which engine is installed in the Civic RS, but does mention that the hatchback has received «further enhancements to ensure driving pleasure». The motor1 publication suggests that the car received a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that has a power of 200 hp, like the Honda Civic Si.
In the worst case, the Civic RS will receive an engine from the Japanese 2024 Civic Sport Hatchback with a power of 158 hp, but it is unlikely that the manufacturer would produce another sports hatchback with a low-power engine.
