In many ways, Microsoft's gaming division owes its good financial performance to Activision Blizzard, without which the statistics would have been much worse
Microsoft released its report for the third fiscal quarter, from which it became known about the collapsed sales of Xbox consoles and the soaring revenue of the corporation's gaming division from games and services.
In numbers:
- Revenue from Xbox content and services, including Xbox Game Pass, grew by 62%, of which 61% came from Activision Blizzard
- Game revenue grew by 51%, which was again greatly contributed by ActiBlizz, which accounted for 55%
- Console sales collapsed by 31%
Activision Blizzard's revenue in the third quarter was 1.97 billion dollars, but integration costs, transnational costs and other transaction costs amounted to 980 million. Based on operating expenses of $1.34 billion, Activision Blizzard's loss is $350 million.
