All you need is the sun or physical strength
Lenovo showed off wireless keyboard and mouse concepts at CES 2024 that never require charging. The kit, called the Mechanical Energy Harvesting Combo, uses mechanical motion and solar energy to charge. According to the company, this is enough to charge peripheral devices and provide them with acceptable battery life.
If for some reason you cannot charge your keyboard and mouse from the sun, you can «start» Mechanically: the keyboard has a wheel in the upper left corner, which needs to be turned for about 5 minutes, then the charge will last for about half an hour of active typing. The mouse also has a lever that only needs to be twisted for about a minute to charge the mouse for a similar 30 minutes of battery life.
However, the company did not provide specific dates for the release of this unusual development to the market. It is possible that «solar-mechanical» the keyboard and mouse will remain at the concept level. In the meantime, visitors to CES 2024 were able to try them out.
