So, one of the largest market players, the Merlion company, recently registered the King Price brand, under which it plans to sell SSDs, power supplies, PC cases and other components . Production will be localized in China, and the products will be aimed primarily at the retail market. Kommersant writes about this.
According to experts, the launch of such production is a logical step for distributors in the current situation. It allows us to offer Russian consumers an affordable alternative to outdated brands and at the same time receive additional margin.
However, analysts doubt that the «Russian» brands from China will be able to completely oust original Chinese brands from retail, which have already managed to win the trust of customers. The trend towards «branding» Chinese products by Russian companies will likely continue to gain momentum. Both domestic distributors and consumers will benefit from this process, as they will receive a wider selection of relatively inexpensive components for their computers. The main thing — is that the quality of such private labels is not inferior to the original Chinese analogues.
«Merlion» also owns the electronics brand Digma and Digma Pro. The company declined to comment.
