Together with PJSFC Sistema
PJSFC «Sistema» and KamAZ entered into an agreement on cooperation in the development of hydrogen technologies. The parties will join forces to create serial products using hydrogen, such as trucks, warehouse equipment, electric water buses, mobile hydrogen filling stations, electrolyzers and others. In addition, it is planned to jointly train new engineering personnel for the field of hydrogen technologies and electric transport.
AFK «System» began the development of the hydrogen direction in 2022 and currently has two research and development centers: the Center for Hydrogen Technologies and the Center for Hydrogen Energy, which collaborates with the Russian Academy of Sciences. In addition, AFK's portfolio company, Sitronics Group, is involved in the development of hydrogen vehicles, namely its division developing Emperium electric vessels.
KamAZ began developing hydrogen transport at the beginning of 2021. In particular, at the Comtrans-2021 exhibition the company presented its first hydrogen bus "KAMAZ-6290" and a prototype 44-ton truck with a hydrogen fuel cell system.
