It will be no worse than Toyota? An electromechanical transmission for hybrids has been developed in Russia

by alex

Perhaps the most famous such transmission is the electromechanical variator Toyota eCVT

The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the visit of the head of the department, Denis Manturov, to the Central Scientific Research Automotive and Automotive Institute "NAMI"». During the visit, Manturov was shown advanced developments, including — Russian electromechanical transmission.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this transmission is suitable for hybrid and electric vehicles and is not inferior in characteristics to foreign analogues. And the most famous analogue — This is an electromechanical variator Toyota eCVT, which is installed on the Prius and many other hybrids from both Toyota itself and Lexus. Other companies (for example, Chinese) have similar solutions. Alas, transmission characteristics are not given.

Denis Manturov was also shown an updated prototype of the NAMI Hydrogen car powered by hydrogen fuel cells. It is possible that we are talking about a pre-production hydrogen Aurus: a prototype of a large domestic hydrogen sedan with a power reserve of 600 km was shown back in 2022. But now its strength has probably been improved. And here too there were no specifics regarding the technical characteristics.
