This is not uncommon for older chips
Engraving on old processor crystals — this is not a new matter. But CPUs are still being discovered where the public was previously unaware of such images. For example, an image of a pistol was found on the chip of an old AMD Athlon K7 from 1999.
To be more precise, there are two images at once: a revolver reminiscent of the Colt Single Action Army, and the state of Texas. This is likely a reference to AMD's Austin branch.
Recall that recently, in the same way, it was discovered that the old iconic Intel 80386 processors have the signature of the current head of the company, Pat Gelsinger, who 40 years ago was one of the main developers of this CPU.
