As reported by the United Aircraft Corporation, at the Nizhny Novgorod aircraft manufacturing plant «Sokol» will begin production of the under-keel compartment of the Russian passenger airliner MS-21.
This is one of the most complex components of an aircraft, since its production requires all types of production: stamping, mechanical assembly, metallurgical, forging, foundry, and aggregate assembly. Release of parts at «Sokol» required the development of a new technology for surface hardening using the shot blasting method, which makes it possible to increase the service life of parts by tens of times.
Also «Falcon» will produce parts for the mechanization of MS-21 doors.
Recall that according to the plan, six serial MC-21s are to be produced in Russia this year.
