Hyperloop is not forgotten. A test track with all the critical vacuum train technologies was built in the Netherlands

Lane switching system will also be tested

There has been very little news surrounding Hyperloop-related projects in recent years. However, this does not mean that no one else is working on this issue. For example, the European Hyperloop Center announced that it has completed the creation of test infrastructure in the Netherlands.

In this case we are talking about a 420-meter pipe. This is not much, because there were projects with longer pipes. However, in this case, the test site is still worth attention, since, despite the short segment, all the main Hyperloop technologies are implemented in it, including a lane-switching system, magnetic levitation and ultra-low pressure. The company intends to conduct the first tests in the coming weeks.

Recall that several years ago there was quite a lot of noise around Hyperloop, and several companies announced very ambitious goals. At that time, the appearance of the first freight lines was predicted by 2022-2023, but the COVID-19 pandemic confused the plans. However, in general, the activity of companies in this direction has decreased significantly.
