Huawei Vision Pro credited with Micro OLED 4K screens from Sony
Li Nan, former marketing director of Meizu and founder of Numiao Technology, announced on the Weibo social network that Huawei is working on a new augmented reality headset, which will be called Vision Pro ( Huawei patented this name in China back in 2019).
Li Nan revealed the cost and characteristics of the future new Huawei product. According to him, the price of the helmet will be 15 thousand yuan — that’s a little more than 2 thousand dollars at the current exchange rate. That is, Huawei Vision Pro will be almost half the price of Apple Vision Pro. True, there are rumors that Apple is preparing a more affordable version of its helmet.
Huawei Vision Pro will receive Micro OLED 4K screens from Sony (possibly the same ones used in Apple Vision Pro) and a gesture-based control system «almost without delays based on proprietary chips». Huawei Vision Pro will not have the EyeSight function, like Apple Vision Pro, but the weight of the helmet will be almost half as much — only 350 grams.
Li Nan did not say when the Huawei Vision Pro will be released, but he indicated that Sony will be ready to ship the screens in six months. In other words, Huawei Vision Pro will appear, at best, only by the fall of this year.
