It was recently reported that HMD is abandoning the Nokia brand for its smartphones. Now the company has shared more details on this matter.
“We are Human Mobile Devices, manufacturer of Nokia phones. And not only. You can call us HMD,” the company says.
It is noted that this is more than just a new name. The company is implementing a new multi-brand strategy. This year, consumers will be offered an original range of HMD-branded devices, Nokia phones and “exciting products from new partnerships.”
So, the company will continue to use the Nokia brand by releasing new phones. HMD will develop more environmentally friendly and affordable phones.
“And we are happy to continue to develop this direction with the new HMD trademark,” says the company in a statement provided to the editors of ITC.UA.
HMD is yet to announce any details about future partnerships or devices coming out of these collaborations, but promises that such partnerships will be “super exciting.”
