Apple added Vocal Shortcuts accessibility feature to iOS 18 and users who tried the beta -version, found that it can be used to assign a new wake word to Siri.
Using Vocal Shortcuts (special voice commands for triggering actions), you can choose an alternative to the standard “Hey Siri”. To do this, go to “Settings” – “Accessibility” – “Voice Commands”, select “Siri” (not Siri Request) and enter a new name, for example “Computer”.
Then using this word you can activate Siri by voice. However, as Macrumors notes, the feature is limited to the iPhone and will not sync with other devices, where the assistant will remain with its default name.
On Reddit they write that after setting up you need to pause and wait for the changes to activate before the new Siri will respond to you.
Vocal Shortcuts can be used to trigger any action, or set up triggers for programs, system functions such as taking a screenshot, changing volume and the like.
