The constellation will include 136 satellites

Roscosmos General Director Yuri Borisov announced that the «Gryphon» will have a resolution of approximately 2.5 meters per pixel.

«The creation of the Gryphon satellite constellation is currently underway. This is a survey constellation of 132 CubeSat satellites with a resolution of about 2.5 m. We are actively involving Novosibirsk State University in the creation of this constellation,” Borisov said.

Project «Griffin» aims to create a global Earth monitoring system. It is assumed that the group will consist of 136 spacecraft, including 4 experimental ones, based on the CubeSat platform. This system will ensure that data is received every 30 hours from the territory of Russia and at least 38 hours around the world. Its tasks include analyzing changes in natural phenomena and man-made processes, regulating traffic flows and monitoring mining operations.
