Got it: the police arrested the author of threats to Nintendo employees who disrupted events

Some people cannot restrain themselves and send various incorrect messages to Nintendo. Sometimes it has consequences

The media noticed that in Japan, police recently arrested a man who was sending threats against Nintendo. It is currently known that he is 27 years old.

The recipients of the threats were not only Nintendo employees themselves; the suspect also threatened participants and spectators at events organized by the company – they were taken seriously, plans were changed:

“Nintendo's Japanese headquarters constantly received threats against its employees, and most recently, threats were directed at spectators and staff at the grand finals of Splatoon Koshien 2023. In response to the threats, Nintendo postponed and canceled a series of events and has since been in contact with the police. Nintendo is very grateful to the police for their investigation and efforts to apprehend the suspect. Nintendo Japan Headquarters will continue to cooperate with the police investigation.”

Among these canceled events was also a Nintendo Live show (expected in December 2023).

The man who was detained has already admitted to making the threats. At the moment it is not clear what punishment he faces.
