Google has always lied? Leaked internal company documents show how the search engine really works

For example, how are sources ranked in SERPs

Google is at the center of another scandal due to the fact that one of its employees accidentally published internal documents on GitHub. And the information there may well harm the company’s reputation.

The document, called the Google API Content Warehouse, contains 2,500 pages that explain what factors and components influence Google's search results. It's basically a cheat code for ranking on Google.

SEO experts say that some of Google's claims regarding its search engine work contradict what is stated in the document. For example, it is mentioned that data from Chrome is used to analyze and rank web pages, despite the fact that the company has previously denied many times the connection between browser data and the ranking system.

And another factor influencing ranking, according to the document, is the EEAT indicator, and Google has always denied this too.

Google also periodically appears white lists of sites that have a higher ranking in search results. Such a system is used during elections in the United States or, for example, was used during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Google has not commented on this leak.
