At the same time, the company plans to double its sales to 180 thousand cars.
At the Russian-Chinese Automotive Forum held today, Changan spoke about plans for 2024. Briefly, they can be described as fundamental changes.
Firstly, the Russian range of Changan cars, which has grown by leaps and bounds, will be significantly reduced. Five crossovers will leave it: CS55, CS75 FL, CS85, pre-restyling CS35 Plus and CS95.
Secondly, the Uni brand will be spun off from the Changan brand (at the moment it is a separate line of cars with an emphasis on design).
“ The company sees that Changan’s audience is divided into two approximately equal parts – more conservative buyers and those who pay special attention to car design. That is why such a decision has matured. Accordingly, within each of the lines, the model range will be more holistic ,” a source familiar with Changan’s plans told Chinese Automobiles.
Interestingly, small dealers will have to choose which of the two brands they will sell: Changan or Uni. And dealers with large centers will be able to divide their halls in two. In China, Uni cars have long been sold at separate dealerships, and Changan is now extending the same practice to Russia.
There will be fewer cars, but there should be more sales: Changan expects to sell 180 thousand cars in Russia in 2024! For comparison, AvtoVAZ will sell about 370 thousand cars this year. So the Chinese have Napoleonic plans, but, interestingly, they already have approximate sales forecasts.
So, in 2024, Changan plans to sell 40 thousand CS55 Plus, 35 thousand CS35 Plus, 20 thousand CS75 Plus crossovers. Sales of Alsvin sedans and Uni-V liftback are projected at 14 thousand for each of these models. The company also plans to sell 12 thousand Lamore, Uni-K and Uni-T, 6 thousand each CS95 and Hunter Plus and 12 thousand Eado Plus sedans.
