Lada Vesta will be the first to try on the “new thing”
At the factory «Pegasus» in Kostroma (it belongs to the company Itelma) the production of exchange rate stability systems for cars (ESP) has started. Let us remind you that the same enterprise began producing ABS systems in the summer of this year.
Russian ESP is not its own development: it is produced under license from a Chinese company. The license includes packages of design and technological documentation, as well as software. Localization of ESP components will be gradually carried out: in 2024, a Russian valve body body and control unit will appear, gaskets and fasteners will become domestic by February 2025. Later in Russia they will begin to produce a motor pump, a hydraulic accumulator and a pressure sensor. As a result, by 2026 they plan to increase localization to more than 75%.
The first model with Russian ESP will be Lada Vesta — The stabilization system will appear in the flagship of the domestic automobile industry at the beginning of 2024. But negotiations are already underway to supply the system to other Russian automakers (GAZ, Haval, Moskvich). The plans for 2024 are to release up to 225 thousand ESP units.
