The incident occurred due to a bug. The company promised to do everything possible to ensure that this never happens again.

Due to a technical glitch in EA Sports FC 24, thousands of players were able to easily obtain an extremely rare and very expensive Lionel Messi card worth almost 885 US dollars or 80 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

For 24 minutes, users only had to complete a very simple challenge to earn a rare Messi card, the chance of which suddenly became many times higher than usual.

It’s quite natural that EA quickly noticed the problem and deactivated the test.

The company promised not to take away the card from those who managed to earn it, and noted that it would no longer offer players such challenges in order to avoid a similar problem in the future.
