The modified car has a power of 11,000 hp

Bob Tasca III set the world drag racing speed record this week and broke it the next day at Bradenton Motorsports Park in a Ford Mustang Nitro Funny.

During qualifying for the first event, he reached 546 km/h, which matched the previous 4×4 world speed record set by Robert Hight in 2017. He then broke that record and made drag racing history.

He crossed the finish line at a speed of 550 km/h, and it took only 3.84 seconds to complete the 305 m segment. However, his opponent Austin Prock covered the track in 3.82 seconds, although he accelerated to 543 km/h.

The 305-meter-long track became the standard in the class back in 2008. And on the quarter-mile (402 m) track, the record was set by Sammy Miller, when he accelerated to 646.96 km/h in 3.22 seconds in a car with a 28,000 hp rocket engine.
