Apparently, Huawei's first desktop PC based on its own processor will use a modified SoC from Huawei Mate 60
In May 2024, Huawei will open a new niche for itself — the company will present the first desktop computer based on its own processor. The new product, called Qingyun W515x, will be aimed not so much at the retail market as at corporate users.
Qingyun W515x will be the first PC in history based on the Kirin 9000C single-chip system. What kind of SoC this is is still unclear. Judging by the name, it will be a variant of the Kirin 9000S SoC, which is used in the Huawei Mate 60. So far, all that has been reported is that the system’s CPU will be 8-core and will be able to execute 12 threads.
Huawei Qingyun W515x will support LPDDR5 memory and SSD. Support for Wi-Fi 6 and TPM is also reported. Interestingly, there will be no HarmonyOS: customers will be offered a choice of KOS and UOS operating systems.
Recall that Huawei launched the Qingyun brand in March last year; laptops, desktop PCs, tablets and other equipment are produced under this brand. If we talk about desktop PCs, then so far there are only two models in the series — Qingyun B730 and Qingyun B530, both use 12th generation Intel Core processors and Windows 11 OS.
