COMAC will develop a short version of the C919 with Tibet Airlines
Developed by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), the COMAC C919 and ARJ21 passenger jets left mainland China for the first time, but they didn't fly far: they landed at Hong Kong International Airport.
This flight took place as part of an intra-Chinese «promotional tour» and aroused keen interest among Hong Kong residents.
Meanwhile, COMAC and Tibet Airlines signed a framework agreement in Shanghai for strategic cooperation to create a new version of COMAC C919 – Shortened Variant with a fuselage shortened by 3.6 meters. This version of the aircraft will be used at all high-altitude airports in China (and there are more than 40 of them). It is not surprising that Tibet Airlines is interested in creating the COMAC C919 Shortened Variant.
