China expands iPhone ban on government agencies and state-owned firms

Now the ban has been introduced outside Beijing and Tianjin

China has expanded its iPhone ban to new regions of the country.

In September, China introduced a ban on the use of Apple smartphones for government employees. But the ban applied only to Beijing and Tianjin. Now the ban has been extended to many other provinces.

As before, it is prohibited to use iPhone in the workplace and for official purposes. Nobody prohibited Apple devices for personal use.

The Bloomberg resource says that the ban in new provinces was introduced directly by state companies and departments, but it is unlikely that they did it on their own initiative. Actually, initially the ban in Beijing was also reported in the same vein.
