This car caused an unprecedented stir in China
Yesterday evening in China, the official premiere of the Chery Fengyun A8 sedan took place, which the company itself presented as «the best hybrid family sedan within 21 thousand dollars». In reality, the car turned out to be much cheaper: the cost of the basic version – only 16.7 thousand dollars. Top price – 21 thousand dollars.
It is not surprising that the Chery Fengyun A8 caused an unprecedented stir in China: on the Autohome page there are now 18 thousand people discussing this model, and yesterday their number reached 70 thousand. There was no such excitement even with announcing highly anticipated cars like the new Camry.
The hybrid power plant Chery Kunpeng Super Performance Electric Hybrid C-DM is represented by a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine with a power of 156 hp, one electric motor with a power of 204 hp. and DHT150 transmission. The total power of the system – 360 hp, the car accelerates to 100 km/h in 7 seconds.
Traction battery capacity – 18.3 kWh. The range on pure electricity is 127 km, and a fully charged and refueled car can travel 1,400 km. That is 360 hp. and the ability to cover more than 1000 km on a tank of gasoline – already in the basic version for 16.7 thousand dollars!
In other respects, the Chery Fengyun A8 is practically no different from the Russian Chery Arrizo 8 (and it is already known that the Fengyun A8 will officially arrive in Russia this year).
Dimensions of the sedan – 4780 x 1843 x 1487 mm with a wheelbase length of 2790 mm. The equipment includes two screens with a diagonal of 12.3 inches (infotainment system – with proprietary Chery Lion 5.0 OS, but the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 SoC is only available in the top configuration).
