The robot can walk at a speed of 4 km/h
On the eve of the opening of the Beijing Auto Show, Chery demonstrated its new development, and it is not a car, but a robot. Android Mornine was created jointly with engineers from Aimoga.
Unlike the brand new Atlas from Boston Dynamics, Chery Mornine received a “face” similar to that of a human. It is made of silicone biomimetric material and is capable of «realistic visual effects and tactile sensations». For example, a robot can smile and show surprise with facial expressions.
Mornine's movements are mediated by electric motors that are powered by a battery. By the way, Boston Dynamics — followed the same principle. When creating the new Atlas, hydraulics were abandoned in favor of electric motors. Mornine can move at a speed of 4 km/h.
Chery expects to use Mornine in dealerships as consultants. But the company does not rule out that in the future the robot could be used as a home assistant.
