This engine has two power options – 313 and 367 hp.
The “poor man's S-Class” debuted in China – the flagship Mercedes-Benz S-Class with a 2.5-liter engine. The engine is six-cylinder, turbocharged and has two power options: 313 hp. (S400 L) and 367 hp. (S450 L 4Matic). Apparently, in the second case, a more efficient turbine with higher pressure was installed.
As follows from the designations, the basic version with a 2.5 engine has rear-wheel drive. This version accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and consumes an average of 7.7 l/100 km. The 367-horsepower version comes with all-wheel drive. However, it is not much more dynamic (5.6 s to 100 km/h), and consumption is higher – 8.3 l/100 km.
The cost of the Mercedes-Benz S400 L is 135 thousand dollars, the price of the Mercedes-Benz S450 L 4Matic is already 188 thousand dollars.
