Developer Bandai Namco has applied for new trademarks for a number of its classic games from the 1980s and 1990s, including hits such as Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga and Splatterhouse. The company probably plans to rework the games and release them on new platforms.

Bandai Namco is following the example of Sega, which is also updating its old brands. The company also wants to improve the quality of its games after some of them received criticism and mixed reactions from gamers. Bandai now focuses on its most popular series, such as Dragon Ball and Naruto, but does not forget about its rich history.

It is still unknown what exactly Bandai Namco intends to do with its classic games. Remasters, remakes and new games based on old ideas are possible. Some of these games are already available on modern consoles, but perhaps Bandai Namco wants to improve them and bring them up to modern standards.
