The president of the company believes that the model will be bought as the first car

AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov said that the new Lada Iskra is aimed at the younger generation. According to him, it is perfect as a first car, since the design of the Lada Iskra is “more dynamic, balanced and youthful.” Sokolov also noted that Lada car owners are “getting younger”: now the average age is 42 years old, although recently it was 44. The company believes that the Iskra model will add supporters and connoisseurs of the brand among the younger generation.

The Lada Iskra model was recently presented at SPIEF-2024. This is a family of cars of the compact class «B», it will include a sedan, a station wagon and an all-terrain station wagon in the Cross version. The start of mass production is planned for early 2025, followed by release to the market. The estimated cost should be 1-1.2 million rubles.

According to a recent survey by «Behind the Wheel», the majority of Russians are not yet ready to buy Iskra — 59% of respondents stated this. Some respondents noted «insufficient status» cars, others reported that they would not be able to purchase anything more expensive than the Lada Granta.
