At the “Let Loose” presentation, Apple introduced the new iPad Pro with OLED screen. Tablets with a diagonal of 13″ and 11″ have a fresh design, powerful filling and are thinner than ever. The new screens provide perfect blacks, better color saturation and contrast.
Apple has updated the iPad Pro's camera modules to provide better images, and adaptive flash improves document scanning. The front camera moves to the horizontal edge, giving a better perspective for video calls.
The Apple iPad Pro screen has a dual OLED structure that allows the display to achieve 1000 nits of peak brightness and 1600 nits for HDR content. The larger model is just 5.1mm thick—Apple says it's its thinnest device (iPad Pro 11″ is 5.3mm). A nano-texture matte screen finish is available for the first time on iPad Pro. Both iPad Pro variants will now offer the same level of display quality. Starting in 2021, the large 12.9″ the model had a Mini LED screen, better than the smaller iPad Pro in many ways.
Apple ditched the M3 chip for the iPad Pro and equipped the tablets with its latest M4 processor. Apple claims the processor is 2-4 times faster than the M2 in the previous generation iPad Pro, particularly in games. Thermal performance has also improved by 20%. The new GPU brings hardware-based ray tracing and mesh shading to iPad for the first time, with overall up to 4x faster rendering compared to the M2. The new Neural Engine makes the M4 chip an “unheard of powerful AI chip,” according to Apple.
The new iPad Pros also received an accessory update. The Magic Keyboard has a better finish, an aluminum palm rest and a row of function keys. Apple Pencil Pro supports squeeze gestures, haptic feedback, gyroscope, and Find My Location tracking.

The base storage capacity for both iPad Pros is 256 GB, with a maximum storage capacity of 2 TB. Prices start at $999 (11″) and $1299 (13″). Both are available for pre-order starting today and will be available in stores on May 15th. Apple iPad Pro 13″ with 5G and nano-texture glass coating, will cost $2599.
