It will become the main rocket for launching satellites and ships from Vostochny
As we already wrote, today, April 11, the first launch of the heavy launch vehicle «Angara-A5» from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. According to the General Director of the Khrunichev Center Alexey Varochko, «Angara-A5» will become one of the main products that will launch heavy satellites and spacecraft into orbit from the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
In turn, the head of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov told reporters that in 2028 «Angare-A5» a manned spacecraft is about to be launched. But before the new launch vehicle sends a ship and crew into space, a lot more work will be done to ensure reliability, Borisov added.
Previously, Roscosmos noted that «Angara-A5» environmentally friendly and does not use toxic fuel components, unlike the Proton-M rocket, which Angara will soon be completely replaced. And in total the «Angara» family will include launch vehicles from light to heavy classes — with a payload of 3.5 to 38 tons in low Earth orbit.
