Both precious and ordinary
Consumer electronics may once again become more expensive. This time due to rising prices for precious metals.
Several Chinese companies have reportedly announced increases in prices for their products due to this reason. This is at least ICM and Yaxin Microelectronics. In addition, HaloChip, Chiplink, TG-Star Electronics Technology, Sanliansheng and Kangqiang Electronics are also planning to increase prices by 10-20%.
In recent years, prices for precious (and other) metals have increased significantly. For example, the cost of a metric ton of copper has increased from $5,000 to $8,300 since 2020.
Although the companies on the list above may not be known to many, they produce various components that are then used in numerous smartphones, laptops and other devices. In addition, it is likely that all other market players will eventually raise product prices due to the rise in metal prices.
